"I also want to say what a tremendous find to discover a resource such as Brian Marshall's school in my hometown. I moved from Stockton over 25 years ago, but I came back to find this completely equipped, fully outfitted school......all in my own backyard sort of speak. Brian's deep technical knowledge, combined with his generosity of spirit has helped to build a fine school for artists such as Rocio to come teach, or for students to learn and further their craft. "Thank you" Brian!"

"Hi everyone. I just got back from a week in Stockton California, attending Brian Marshall's Jewelry Arts School. I took a one week hand engraving class, and I can recommend it highly! The atmosphere was relaxed, and Brian was super to work with. The class was small, and the instruction personalized. He offers both leading air powered systems (GRS, Lindsey) and is very knowledgeable about engraving styles and techniques. His school also offers classes in many other areas of metalsmithing and jewelry making, I intend to go back and take a more advanced engraving class and maybe his tool making class too. I had never heard of the Stockton Jewelry Arts School, I got the link for it from an engraving site. It was one of the best things I have done for my career in quite some time, so I thought I would pass the word along to anyone else looking to better themselves at their craft. I came home from my week at school energized about my work and with my head buzzing trying to digest the amount of information I had tried to take in. Just had to share, thanks for listening."     "On that note [Techniques of engraving text] I'd like to highly recommend Brian Marshall's engraving class.   He teaches 3 to 6 people at a time so you get plenty of direct attention. I went to learn the basics which were pretty much covered in the first two days. The rest of the week was a flood of things "I didn't know I didn't know". A lot of it is stuff I'd never have figured out on my own.  Brian has decades of experience in fabrication, engraving, saddle making and lots more and he brings it all to the classroom experience. He also does contract hand and machine engraving if you prefer."

"Dear Billie, Brian and Orchidians, Thanks for your words about our Workshop at the Stockton Jewelry Arts School. Thanks to Brian P. Marshall and his wife Melanie Sanchez who made it possible and for being such a wonderful host. It was an honor for me to work in this School that has an amazing variety of Metal Programs, classes and workshops. It is a little sad for me that I live in Monterrey, Mexico and I can't assist to his classes, but if you are looking an excellent Arts School and have the opportunity to study with a Master like Brian, who teaches all the techniques that He learned over more that 30 years.  I also want to say that I enjoyed every minute of intensive work with my wonderful students: Billie, Melanie, Pat, Sue, Carolyne, Glenda and Gabriel. Warmest regards."

Just got back from Rocio Heredia's Metal Embossing workshop in Stockton, California. Despite having to return to New York for oral surgery the next day, I am still wearing smile upon my face! Every now and then you get an opportunity to work with a Master who shows you new ways to enjoy the art of metal. "Thank you" Rocio for sharing you gifts! I also want to say what a tremendous find to discover a resource such as Brian Marshall's school in my hometown. "Thank you" Brian! So back in New York, filled with the realities those of us who live here face, I go back to work just a little bit more inspired.
